Question What is the general French view on the Portuguese

I´m asking this because I´ve seen claims that the french may not consider the Portuguese as "White".

However, I would believe that they have a better view on the Portuguese than the Arabs.

The Portuguese and the French speak relatively similar Romance languages, and they both are catholics.

French aren't people who think into race because the five last decades erased that from our education by force. Portuguese are seen as european by everyone with a functional brain but they can be joked about especially because it's more politically correct to joke about them than a protected minority like the africans. Most jokes are about portuguese being hairy or working into masonry.

When the leader of the French nationalist anti-immigration party, Marine Le Pen, constantly praises the Portuguese community in France and even uses them as an example, I think it is safe to conclude that the Portuguese community is viewed with good eyes.

More important is what Portuguese in Portugal think about the so called portuguese emigrants in France, who we call "vacances" or "avecs"

As far as I'm concerned they can stay in France and never come back (at least 90% of them), they are basically a national embarrassment that we have to endure year after year on every agonizing month of August. Annoying as fuck with their stupid tuned cars, olive oil fashion sense, lack of manners and a verborrhea Wich is unintelligible both for Portuguese and also I believe for the less suburban French. Most of them are undoubtedly hard working etc etc but as whole highly caricatural belonging to a subculture that doesn't really exist in their "home" country.

Anyway France is nowadays a country with one of the very worse suburban-ghetto subcultures in the World, I live in a very touristic area in the south Portugal and around here they don't allow groups of French youngsters (unless is a group of women) in the discos/clubs, as it almost invariably ends badly, they provoke fights, use drugs, vandalize, drink like crazy then refuse to pay and similar animal behaviour.
