The Pechenegs, originally from Central Asia, were Oghuz Turks.

They were the founders of the Kangar Union, one of the strongest unions of Turkish tribes of the medieval time.

Oguz in southern Kazakhstan, Kimaks in the Irtysh River Valley, Cumans in Mugodjar and Kypchaks in northern Kazakhstan became vassals of the Kangar Union. (according to the source:: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kangar_union)
All these vassal tribes united and attacked the Oghuz Pechenegs (unknown reasons), and the Pechenegs being outnumbered were forced to migrate.

They migrated northwest, defeating the Bulgarians and Hungarians, whom they defeated and moved to Europe.
Arriving in Europe, being outnumbered by the Balkan populations, they were absorbed by them.
Most Oghuz Turkish-speaking populations in the Balkans are descended from them.
Many villages that bear the name of this population are their descendants. Also many forests, waters, cities. And most of the names in Turkish of food, water, cities are due to this population.
Also, the words of Turkish origin in the Balkan languages may be due to these Turks.
Also, the entire percentage of Turkish DNA in the Balkan populations may be due to these Pecheneg populations.
