Actually, British people are less religious than Americans while we do have a religious streak it's not as serious, it seems.

Yeah, I'd be scared that whatever the drugged-up maniac, or mentally ill person, has in his bodily fluids could be very dangerous to my future health. In that sense, I'd be wise to be on guard against such a person behaving in such a way in public, and be wise to avoid them. Or a contaminated needle in their pocket, etc.
