Hey guys!.
So like I promised, I am continuing my mestizo phenotype spectrum thread, and since many showed interest in the Castizo phenotype thread, I am excited to this Harnizo thread! Specially since it will shed some light on one of the most obscure and overlooked phenotypes in the Mestizo spectrum, also one of the most tricky!. So like I said in my Castizo thread, I am making a couple of threads about the Mestizo Spectrum, From Castizo all the way up to Indo-Mestizo, now moving up to the Harnizo Phenotype. I will show some examples and give a brief description of this phenotype/mix, so people who arent familiar with them, or are interested in this, can learn about them . Anyone who wants to post and give examples themselves are free to, this is mainly a community post, so feel very welcome to do so (Specially with this pheno since its more tricky to find!).
Ill be posting examples of (mainly) celebs and social media personalities famous both in the United States and in Latin America that show the Harnizo phenotype, now I would like to disclaim (Like in the past thread) that these people are not necessarily harnizos genetically, but ended up expressing a Harnizo appearance, these people could vary from anything genotype wise, but their phenotype is what a Harnizo would typically express, again this is to merely show the average Harnizo appearance, and not atypical expressions or examples.
Harnizo:
Harnizo is a mixed person of 1/3 Indigenous, and 2/3 European ancestry (Tipically Iberian ancestry)
The original Harnizos were the children of a Spanish parent and a Indo-Mestizo parent (But can also come from a Castizo and a Mestizo Parent), today they usually are people who have around 59-69% (Give or take) european blood, the textbook Harnizo is around 65% euro and 35% native american.
Casta Painting of casta Harnizo:
Harnizos usually look predominantly Iberian-European but less than Castizos, but more than Balanced Mestizos, they are the in-between of these two phenotypes, and since they are a middle ground between these two, people who are not familiar with this phenotype, can get them confuse with Castizos or Balanced Mestizos. Harnizos have a decent or noticeable amount of native influences in some features, either in the eyes, nose, face shape, mouth, skin, or cheekbones, or all at the same time, but the European input is still the most noticeable one. Harnizos on average cannot pass the best in Europe, since they tend to have an "exotic" look (for a lack of better word) for that part of the world, more than the "exotic" Castizos can happen to look, but its not that rare either for a minority or a few Harnizos to be able to pass. I would believe that around 20-25% of harnizos would be able to pass in Europe, while the rest usually can pass very well as Turkish, or many, if not all areas of the middle east, sometimes they can pass in all of these mentioned areas combined, (I am not sure about North Africa, I would need North Africans opinions, so Ill leave that out for the moment).
Famous celebrities that look Harnizo are J.Balvin, Maluma, Carlos Vela, Ximena Navarrete, Ryan Garcia, James Rodriguez, Danna Paola, and many more on this thread.
Harnizos can be considered the mestizo equivalent of a Terceron/Cuarteron in the mulatto spectrum
Hope someone found it cool
Cheers!.
