May be they know exist Cuba and Dominican Republic because they hve immigrants from those countries living there, and Puerto Rico because it's not exactly a country but a free associated State to the US but not many more...

Mexico gets blamed when latino countries or latino nationalities fuck up.

    Umm I don't know. It's a weird question.

I mean, how come genetics determine whether someone is Latin American or not? I thought the Latino label is based on language and culture.

All central americans go to US by land through Mexico's border, I guess it would be the reason. I really doubt they would associate Dominicans, PR, Cubans or even Jamaicans to Mexico despite how dumb some are.

Here the most famous Central American country is Haiti due many immigrants from there, then Cuba and probably Costa Rica. I also can't remember all countries from Central America.

Define “Latin”. By the original definition “ A person native to ancient Rome or its Empire” it would be Argentina and Uruguay.
By the colloquial widespread definition of what “latin culture” is I’d say Colombia or Venezuela.

Chileans are among the most formal and serious Latin Americans of all. However, I agree Argentines and Uruguayans are somewhat more relaxed and fun-loving.

Uruguayans are laid back, yes. But we are known for being super serious and self-controlled which is a high contrast with people from other Latin countries that tend to be loud, colorful, extroverted and cheerful.
Also Uruguayans are more relaxed and quiet than Argentines, especially in comparison to the Buenos Aires area.
