According to oral family tradition E-FT155550 comes from a deserter of Napoleon's troops (1808-1813) who stayed in Spain and changed his surname.

Some news about Columbus' genetic results may have been leaked, since in Galicia they have rushed to exhume the remains of a Galician nobleman.

    Sábado, 18 septiembre 2021 -

Exhuming the Sotomayor to check if Christopher Columbus was a Galician nobleman
A team of anthropologists extract the bones from a 14th-15th century sarcophagus in a church in Tuy (Pontevedra). The promoter of the project, convinced that Columbus was actually Pedro Álvarez de Sotomayor, intends to compare the DNA with that of the discoverer's family.

    This is a scandal now!!!!

    How long has it been?

It is clear that the result must have been non-Italian.

The Spanish-speaking community with hundreds of millions of people want to know the origin of Columbus beyond any deception of an ethnic minority of any country.

The whole world wants to know the origin of Columbus.

There is no conspiracy behind it, and no one cares too much about the feelings of Italian-Americans.

I know this through common sense.

The consensus is that he was Ligurian, then as you also said finding out that he was Iberian instead of Italian wouldn't really change anything for both Iberians and Italians. The very existence of a genetic study to discover his origins is unknown to most of us.
