Default do you see France as more north or south Euro nation?

France is interesting case, classic western European country and bridge between NW and SW.
But if you had to chose, to whom you think France is closer (in all aspects)?

I see France as more northern than southern.

France is more Southern in culture but France, Scotland & England share tons of medieval history. In that way never felt too disconnected to the country.

    France is France I guess.

Poll is clear, please no intermediate or none answers because that's already obvious.

In that case, slightly more Northern than Southern European, if only because Paris ultimately rules the roost.

It's probably the definition of "western" European to me. I'd say North at a stretch because of their strong historical overlap with Britain, Belgium and Germany and the fact that Paris is clearly more North than South and the capital city does represent the "heart" of a nation to me, but there's still something very med and alien to me about France and the sort of collectivist culture they have. They don't fit into either category firmly but North at a push.
