Chicago isn't even that bad, and that's because it's very segregated. North side is very good for living.

That's not really true anymore. My wife and I left Chicago for northern Wisconsin recently, it was just too stupidly dangerous. Most of the violent crime that occurs on the North Side isn't covered in the news.
