Vater Rhein is unmatched. It`s also the most densely forested region in all of Central Europe, comprising of Westerwald, Eifel and Odenwald and it`s oozing an imperial Prussian flair you`re hard pressed to find anywhere else today.

That's precisely the combination of things that made me love it, beside instinctual propensity towards this kind of terrain that I have always possessed and cultural bias - I have visited before, only it was a long time in the past and I no longer remember the names of the towns.

Honestly all of them are alien to me but I have german family and ancestry and I have lived there for a while so Germany.

I could reconcile myself with the mentality, it's closer to me than the mentality of eg. Poles or Russians and my experiences with native French were good - I have some family in France, in fact - but the language is difficult. I do however love French cinema and literature.

And what about Italy and Spain?

The UK seems like a more boring version of USA to me. I thought it'd be less boring to Argentines and other non-Anglos.

Northern Italy is not too far from the places I've lived in and found comfortable, with a pleasant climate. While Spain is fascinating from a cultural, architectural and historical viewpoint, it might just be too far for me to acclimate to.
