He's right, Toronto is quite clean. Imagine how Detroit or Chicago would look if they were cleaner and were less insecure.

Had no problems with them on the Anglo part of the country. The French ones, though, are another story...

"How I met your mother" may be the reason why nice Canadian people stereotyping is quite common.

Chicago has so much potential if they could just clean up the crime (I know that's so much easier said than done)

I would absolutely love to visit Banff. I've heard nothing but wonderful things about it scenery wise and local wise. And as for the french part.. I would like to visit Quebec being that my ancestors immigrated there before Louisiana. I suppose the pretentious stereotype followed them even after they left France lol.

Trust me, the place is an absolute must to visit. Although I'd advice for you to go during the warmest months of summer, as otherwise the weather is as rainy, humid, cold and dark as it would be in the UK.

Yep. If it weren't for the localisms, one could say the transplanting was almost perfect.

What I find interesting is that Cajuns are the complete opposite. They are very warm and welcoming. They are fun-loving "swamp people". It makes me wonder why there's such a cultural divide even though genetically they are almost the same lol. Is it really just environment? Perhaps it is the level of education over the generations as well. Idk.

That, and interaction with Iberian tribes in the Louisianan colony. Canarian Islanders (Isleños) may have contributed to the changing of their disposition for sure.
