Some influence, yet. Not much but some. Mostly regional, but the Christian Union also participated in the previous government and the CDA is still part of it. It's no Poland. It has other influence, more subtle.

If you insult Protestants (or Catholics) in the Netherlands people generally won't like you, let me tell you this. Sure it happens and the culture is generally very secular, but it's not like in France where you can just yell "A bas les calottes" (anti-Catholic here). In the Netherlands that would be very much frowned upon.

In some Bible Belt villages the influence of Protestant Churches is rather large too. Almost everybody goes to church every Sunday there, and it's not easy to buy a house there as an outsider.

It does not exist in most other countries in Western Europe.

The most Christian village in the Netherlands. They are no pushovers and would use violence to defend themselves. There are other such villages. 5 km West from here you have Reimerswaal, neither pushovers. They are friendly and hospitable, but they would defend themselves with force.
