Atocha station in Madrid, among great sized stations:

The modern station is actually under the ancient building:

And among small ones, not specially beautiful, but my like for it is more a sentimental matter.

In this small railway station was born the second wife of my paternal grandfather, and my grandfather made a small painting of it for her, and it is still in my grandparents home.

It is not in use as railway station (the vasco-navarro line was closed during 60´s), nowadays is the Town Hall of the town.

There are no truly notable train stations bar maybe Dunedin which is a small city in the south. It is constructed in dark basalt and white Oamaru white stone facings and is quite pleasing to the eye.

Otherwise, the rail network here has been neglected and run down by multiple owners, especially over the last 40+ years. Trucks now move the majority of freight. Cars and aircraft move the people.

Nine out of ten concerns are completely unfounded.

LA Union Station. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Union_..._(Los_Angeles). "The structure combines Art Deco, Mission Revival, and Streamline Moderne style, with architectural details such as eight-pointed stars, and even elements of Dutch Colonial Revival architecture."

La mayoría de las estaciones de tren antiguas son bastante bonitas.

Most of old railway station used to be quite beautiful buildings, even in small towns, I cannot choose just one.*

That they are beautiful buildings has saved them from disappearing when many old train lines were canceled, for example this one in Estella:

    *Edit:
Tooting Carmen correction :"I cannot choose just one" and not "I cannot choice just one"

I see that you prefer the most modern designs.

And thanks for correcting my horrible English.

    Very beautiful train station indeed.
I was there in 2015 , from Union Station I walked over to Olivera Street to see the oldest standing house in Los Angeles Avila Adobe.
