The only latin heritage in Moldova is the language, because for the rest i can't see any difference with the eastern slavic countries.

What about Romania? I have read that the Dacians were exterminated en masse and Roman colonists were brought to Romania to repopulate the region.

Some romanians looks very med, indeed.

But i think that the latin/mediterranean ethnic heritage in modern Romania is less than 20%.

Romanian are the largest foreigner/immigrants group here in Italy (more than 1,100,000 peoples) , and indeed most of them looks slavic or pan-balcanic rather than latins.

Anyway, their culture have a strong latin heritage. The language is quite easy isf isn't spoken too fastly.

On the other hand I would never ever guess there were so many of them because probably most of them pass unnoticed, unlike other immigrants. 1.100.000? Wow...

Here in Torino romanians are more than 60,000, i can see them everywhere.

You live in Lombardia, and unfortunately most immigrants in Bergamo/Brescia are senegals, nigerians, filipinos, bolivians, chineses...

PS: Interior Ministery extimate other 400,000-500,000 illegal aliens from Romania.
Until 2020 romanians will make up 3-5% of total italian population.

not at all, 100 years of Vandal and Goth domination occurred also in Sardinia between the 5th and 6th century AD, one of the capitals of Kingdom of the Vandals was located in Sardinia, the city of Karalis.

The point is Germanics came and replaced all/most of Italy's elite and ruled over the natives, including the Normans in the South. I'm sure even Napoleon had some German in him because his island was part of the "Holy Roman Empire" and he was from a (small) noble family.

I vote for the Papal State as being the most important and influential on a planetary scale, but it used to be more powerful in the past. Imo it's also a "germanic" state because of how it's organized, but at least they speak Latin there.

i have voted Italy not referred as the recent country founded in 1861, but in its historical wholeness, so i have included in it also the roman empire, the papal state..etc.

Well when the country was founded in 1861 it's said only ~2,5% of the people could speak standard Italian(Tuscany). Romanians never had this problem,I can even read most of Neacșu's letter( 1521 - "the oldest surviving document available in Romanian that could be reliably dated").

Napoleon wasn't ethnic corse, but tuscan from the city of Sarzana (that nowadays is part of Liguria).
