Hello everyone,
Some months ago I tested my DNA using 23andme and I got L2a1c as my mtDNA haplotype. However, I kept digging a bit more about this (I was so curious) and recently I tried the James Lick mtDNA Haplogroup Analysis and I got a different result, L2a1c6.
After having a look on the results from James Lick mtDNA analysis, I think I found the potential reason of this discrepancy (but not 100% sure). It seems to me that my mtDNA have markers for the subtype L2a1c6 but lacks one of the previous defining markers (16086C) used to move from L2a1c to L2a1c6 and that theoretically L2a1c6 must have....
What do you think? Do you think my assumption is correct? What would be the most accurate mtDNA haplotype for me, L2a1c or L2a1c6???Screen Shot 2021-06-08 at 3.41.31 PM.pngScreen Shot 2021-06-08 at 3.32.45 PM.png
