The Liberty was attacked 54 years ago today. There is one correction that could be made to the film; at 6:34, the documentary says that the ship was unarmed. Actually, it was armed with four 12.7mm (0.50 cal) machine guns.

During the time interval of 2:06 - 2:35 in the video, the narrator states that "This audio tape, which has never been broadcast before, was recorded in real time by the Israeli military during the assault. The woman's voice in the background is counting down the seconds. It proves that Israeli commanders knew all along that they were attacking an American ship." The relevant portion of the tape transcript is shown onscreen.
