I don't think the Greeks viewed the persians as barbarian I'm sorry . You need to provide some substantial reliable evidence for this . Cyrus the Great was well respected by the Greeks in his time . The empire was far more advanced than Alot of surrounding regions of its time .

Like I said this term didn't have the modern pejorative connotation and in the case of iranians it's well known :
