I just checked it (the Baroque was very after the Renaissance) and you're right. I'm very ashamed for such big and ignorant mistake. My bad!
Anyways, in El Prado, I saw lots of paintings of different periods from great Italian and Spanish painters, so my point still stands: That both countries have produced many great artists, and both countries have long and amazing history, art, culture, architecture, achievements, etc.
I love Spain with all my heart, but I also feel a very great respect and admiration for Italy.

Ironically, we even know his full name, including his first and second surnames, which both sounded very Italian, but we don't know from where in Italy he was originally from.
We only know that my first surname (that is Italian and came down from him to me all the time by paternal line) has its highest frequency in Basilicata, through it is also somewhat present in Campania, Lazzio, Toscana Liguria, Piedmonte and Lombardia, being Lombardia and Campania the regions with highest frequencies of my last name after Basilicata. But anyways, my last name is not very numerous in any of those regions, because is not as common as other Italian surnames. I think that it doesn't tell much about where he could have been from.

Garcia would stayed Garcia as it is also present among Portuguese surnames (although with much less frequency). But you are right, actually similar thing happened in my grandfather's village . It's a village at the border with Galiza and till 1864 was divided in two, half pertaining to Portugal and the other to Spain, one of the so called 3 promiscuous villages existing at the time along the border.
This village came to be fully part of Portugal despite its inhabitants supposedly be mostly Galicians. So when I was checking some parochial records I've noticed an unusual number of surnames that aren't that common in Portugal such as Sanches and others more common in Spain. Which led me to believe that those surnames were too just changed to their Portuguese versions.

Why you still bring into discussion my country lmao? Yes, Italy is superior than my country in everything, including Spain. My mother tongue originate in Italy, including yours, the alphabet in which I write originate in Italy, so yes Italy win here.
Greece was influential only in Ancient times, Italy always was influential since Ancient times till present, and many of Ancient Greece ideas survived especially in Italy and were developed further. I see Italy influence all other Europe, regardless of religious confession or geographic location.

Baroque is very much less valid than the renaissance, the first is the symbol of the moral corruption and excessive glitz, the second rapresented noble values and the continuation of a entrepreneurial mind, let alone your thought about gay-art who just show us you have unsolved complexes, like our old friend paleoretard..
