They might be different opinions on this topic but I really think ethnicity is more of a social concept rather than being determined by DNA.
Ethnicity is some degree cultural, some degree genetic and some degree physical anthropology a heady profane or semi-profane or heretical mix. The PC thing to do is just say it is socially constructed.

Many if not all Irish, Germans , Italians etc.... simply look too ethnic to pass in the UK. Sure, an Irishman might get along better in Liverpool than East Anglia but that does not mean he does not look ethnic in many cases.

Comparing two subsets of Latins is not that convincing BTW. It seems off topic because I used the UK as an example but is more diverse than say Scandinavia and Italy/Greece.

Looking at a picture of say Adolf Hitler it is pretty obvious he doesn't look British even if he spoke with the received pronunciation.

I guess some ethnicities have more than one clusters who are fairly distant from each other. For example, Turkish ethnicity is one of those.

South Italians being cluster-wise closer to their neighbour ethnicities than far-North Italians (ignoring any Italian locality inbetween )is not comparable with being an Ottomanized Bosniak with no relation to Turan influenced Anatolids.

If you're making an analogy between Turkification and Italianization I disagree. All Italians are culturally and naturally native to their lands with no recorded massive migrations flows. Other than that, yes , ethnicity is a construct.

I feel more related to Anatolian Turks than to Bosniaks in Bosnia. It depends on person, I have strong ties with Anatolian Turks.

Not exactly an analogy but what I try to mean is some ethnicities might have more than one genetic clusters.

But you're conflating genetics with national identity, which is illogical on a genetics thread.

Italians are not stupid they know who their brothers and sisters are. They are autochtonous to their area and so are we and overlap significantly. They are not Italicized Greeks - they are modern Italians and nothing is going to change this fact and they wouldnt want to either. We are not like commie slavs and insidious Turks wanting to claim everyone; its not our style. We push these ethnicities back - those that want to be Greek and can prove it are therefore Greek
