Right, but one of the problems people just simply try to lose weight instead of changing their body composition or try to change their body by doing the elliptical, tread mill , shoulder presses and curls. The Most effective shit is also the toughest e.g burpees .

I weigh 228 pounds @ 6 foot tall but I don't look significantly fat because I have wide shoulders a certain body composition from doing burpees and kettlebell swings with some walking and I am working my way up to doing a significant amount of pull ups. I am 43 so not about being in elite shape per se just good shape.

If you do like 10 or 20 burpees and then immediately do 10-20 kettlebell swings and then rinse repeat for 4 or 10 sets that is killer more so than most people realized. Just one round is more effective than a 30 minute all out sprint.

Then you can always get a cheap pull-up bar etc..no gym no excuses !
