Nope, unless you are balding like crazy every day.
If you got some receding hairline and then it stopped progressing, you can do it and you don't need to be on Finasteride after that as long as you aren't balding.
Most men have phases in life when they are balding.
For example some men start balding at 20, then at 23 it stops. And for several years, there is no any further progress. Then it starts again at 36 (for example).
It is very individual, you should visit a trychologist.

I did. I visited one when I was balding and talked about transplants. He said that finasteride is taken to stop the newly transplanted and old hair from dropping.
I haven't been losing any for a couple of years, so it is stable for now, but if it goes South I'll just rock the cue ball look.

Shave your head.
Or, get a transplant, but bear in mind you will need to take drugs - estrogen - for life. Why? Not for the new hairs, but to prevent old hairs continuing to fall out. 'Oh I'll wait to be fully bald, in that case, before the transplant, so there won't be any old hairs to fall out.' Then you likely won't have enough donor hair for full coverage. Remember, E has a lot of side effects. I wouldn't chance it.
Laser hair therapy is apparently promising, but I don't think it can regrow fully dead hairs.
I envy you, you must have a blessed existence.
