Classify these Xingu People

Are they Lagid or Amazonids? They also seem to have a very light skin color considering they are tropical people, yet you clearly see they have tropical adaptions in their noses.

Here the bottom girl looks weak and deformed in a similar way as Caucasoids, because she has a narrow and gracile face, a high nasal bridge, a narrow nose, and low cheekbones.

The top girl has better form. She has a higher facial angle, a wider nasal root, less protruding eyeballs, lower palpebral fissure height, and a wider mouth. Her skin is also more firm, so the nasolabial folds look more like sharp lines and less like blurry lines. The color of the skin is also less yellowish and pale, and the skin is less unevenly colored so that for example the skin around the eyes is not much darker than other skin.

I wouldnt say they are deformed, the one with the receding chin probably is, i think it could be that these types represent the founding population of the amerindians, which themselves were "mixed". Maybe some types simply are more caucasoid leaning, others more mongoloid leaning. The majority being in between. But they are leaning towards a proto mongoloid look for most cases.

Second girl looks closest to leaning on caucasoid, could be just babyish features. The rest are pure mongoloid type.

I often have the impressonion amazonids look more mongoloid than many other amerindians, i think this could be because of their flat nosebridges, this might also make the epicanthic fold more present.

The Amazon Amerindians look more mongoloid than other amerindians, i think this could be due them having a lower nasal bridge.

Amazonids are not as uniform as most think, you can even find almost silvid like, dinariform nosed types among them



also this woman (also Xingu) looks much less mongoloid, I wouldnt say caucasoid, but she has a proto mongoloid look, she does not have any sign of eyelid or facial flatness at all, her cheekbones structure more reminiscent of caucasoids. She also shows some tropical adaptions, but they dont look as extreme as in the more mongoloid types.



Another example is this girl, i dont know from which tribe she is, i think Kayapo


look at these two yanomami girls, while they are young you can see how distinct they look, see she does not look mongoloid at all, especially in children the mongoloid tendency should be even more visible. there is a gracilization trend visible in her.

And this kind of phenomen can be observed in lots of amerindian tribes, you have some that look 100% mongoloid, others look almost caucasoid (more likely proto mongoloid) and most are intermediate.


I do not think these caucasoid leaning individuals are deformed however, the trend is way to commonly observed, they either are evidence that the original founding population was indeed a mixed one between protomongoloids, more advanced mongoloids and maybe even Proto Caucasoids. OR simply mutations that occured due to genetic drift, maybe tropical adaptions that would make the face more gracile? adaption to softer food? sexual selection? Or like previously said, indeed the result of two distinct lineages forming the Paleo Indian founding population.

To be honest they are quite similar to Southern Filipinos or Polynesians. Silvid-like minority would stand out completely though...
