How to convert to Islam?

Honestly I am pretty ignorant towards Islamism right now, is it possible for a non-muslim to convert himself into islam? I am christian-born but I don't believe christian god neither degenerated christian societies

I have checked Google maps and we have mosques here in Santiago, I am pretty interested to know more about Allah and its beautiful religion.

Go to the mosque you need a deeper understanding, saying the shahada is the basis of becoming a muslim, but just saying it and dont practizing islam will not safe you from djahanam(hell)

There are 5 pillars of Islam

1. Declaration of faith
2. Obligatory prayer
3. Compulsory giving
4. Fasting during Ramadan
5. Pilgrimage to Mecca

Furthermore there are different schools and forms of Islam.

If you really wanna convert id say it makes sense if you follow the most authentic/strict/original school that is hanbali sunni islam.

Abu Hanifa died before Ahmad ibn Hanbal was born. Ahmad ibn Hanbal was taught jurisprudence by a hanafi.

Interesting, I've thought they would be more restricted to non-muslims like jews usually are, but it seems they are open minded about other ethnicities being muslims

Abu Hanifa died before Ahmad ibn Hanbal was born. Ahmad ibn Hanbal was taught jurisprudence by a hanafi.

Hanbal was a ashab al hadith traditionalists/puritarians.
Hanafis accept judgements based on local customs when there is no strong hadith on the issue. A weak hadith and the view of the sahaba should have more value on any topic than a non islamic custom by basic logic. If Id convert, id only choose hanbali maddhab, no doubt.

Ethnicity/Race is no issue in Islam.

Thanks, mate. I am happy to see how faithful muslims are. No wonder they will be the first religion in next decades. It is enough to prove Allah is the only true God to my eyes.
