Are Roma people really persecuted in Europe nowadays? I didn't know that. I know them as a fortune tellers, but not as a bad people.

I wouldn’t advertise it. It’s a safe country for tourism but I wouldn’t go to somewhere like split (nazi central) and start telling people you’re a Serb. Just stick to yourself, speak English or German (a lot of workers in tourist towns speak German) and avoid using a car with a Serbian number plate if you have one and you’ll be fine.
Split is Nazi central? I never got that vibe.
