Best would have been if they would have settled in Turkish Thrace like many did in 1912-1913. A significant of eastern thracian have ancestry right accross the border from what I've seen. Better than being called Greek muslim and denied your ethnicity. And from what I've seen the ones who migrate to other european countries like Germany are fully turkish raised.
Those people clearly identify as Turks.

Any Greek citizen can fully identify as Turk in Greece if so he wishes. Or anything else he pleases. But on an individual level.

If he couldn't why would they have Turkish schools in Greek Thrace?

But Turkey is not allowed to call the Muslim minority of Greece TURKISH.

Why? Because half of them are Pomaks. Because the treaty of Lausanne explicitly calls it MUSLIM not Turkish minority.

Turkey agreed to it and insisted that Greece's minority is called Muslim and not Turkish.

The Lausanne treaty states there is a MUSLIM minority in Greece and a GREEK (not just Christian) minority in Turkey.

So why are you so quick to spew Turkish propaganda, especially when Turkey makes no bones about wanting to do the same in Thrace as it did to Cyprus?

The treaty of Lausanne also explicitly states that there must be kept the balance between the Muslim minority in Greece and the GREEK minority in Turkey. It also explicitly grants autonomy to the Greeks of Imvros and Tenedos.

The Greek minority of Turkey has totally disappeares from the 200,000 it used to be, while the Muslim minority doubled from 60,000 to 120,000.

You hate the Serbs so insanely much and as collateral damage anything that has
to do with Orthodox Christianity. Only you and Stears make that distinction nobody else on this forum except perhaps your beloved Albanians.

Turkish FM Çavuşoğlu ‘not welcome’ among Greece's Pomaks

The Cultural Association of the Pomaks in Xanthi issued a statement on Saturday, ahead of Sunday’s private visit of Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu to Western Thrace.

The Association said that Çavuşoğlu was “not welcome” in their region and declared him a ‘persona non grata’. Pomaks are objecting to Çavuşoğlu’s repeated references to the Greek Muslim minority of Western Thrace as “Turkish”.

”Over the recent decades, the Pomaks and Roma of Thrace have been subjected to a cultural and linguistic genocide by Turkish settlers. ”Ours is a recognised minority and it is defined by the Treaty of Lausanne; it is Muslim and it consists of communities that have only one thing in common: Their religion!” the statement says.

Çavuşoğlu used the phrase “Turkish minority” in five tweets in English and Turkish.
