That's another one of those accent dependent puns that doesn't translate to our side of the Anglosphere I'm afraid I've made a few the other way sometimes.

It's just as well. It was a terrible pun.

    Third Branch of Mabinogion Highlights
    - If you were in the mist for a long time what would you do?

    - At one point in the story, the characters had to eat bees since they were in the mist for a long time, what would an “eat the bugs bigot!” style recipe British edition

    - Since a theme of this third story is crafts, (shoemaking, enamel making, shields) what crafts were Britian the best at (Bronze Age Pre-Roman)

I give you props for attempting to follow the paganism that is applicable to your ancestry rather than doing what every other identity-seeking neopagan does, which is "Norse paganism" even if you're Anglo.

Also not really 'ironic' as the native peoples of England were displaced by Germanics who brought their own pantheon (although it was largely replaced very quickly. I do live right by a place named for Odin though - about 200m away).
I wasn’t exactly thinking of Ireland ruling the Isles. The story even says “Island of the Mighty” so it implies to me that Britain could have made their own little pre historic preservation Roman Empire that we don’t know of. I don’t take this idea that seriously, just entertaining a thought

Not enough controversy and drama. Also not enough people with subject matter expertise.

According to Norse Mythology, Ragnarök would lead to the death of the gods and this has technically already occurred with the arrival of Christianity which replaced the old pagan religions. It's no coincidence that early Christian missionaries used the story of Ragnarök to convert pagan Europeans and made some reversions such as painting Baldr as a Christ figure who was a kind and merciful god, the beloved Son of Odin, loved by him and all the gods who dies and is resurrected in the new world and the survivors being a man and a woman, Lif and Lifthrasir aka Adam and Eve to repopulate the new world, for instance.

In conclusion. The gods are dead and humanity at large has lost interest in them. The appeal to have a pagan book club is no longer there.
