The music was horrible (I was a child at the time) Although I loved Kenny Rogers... I think that the morals were better in the 1980s. It was shocking to even say the word "b-tch" on TV and many things with sex scenes were rated R or beyond.. In the 1980s there was almost a nostalgia for the 1950's aesthetic, at least in the early part of the decade. The late 1980s saw a resurgence of the Hippie flavor, with tye dye shirts coming back in style. Boomers were still fairly young in those days. It was coming in on the 20th anniversary of Woodstock. It was definitely better than today but not perfect by any means.
