Wouldn't surprise me if over 50% of French have recent foreign ancestry, but who knows.
I judge by surname data, Facebook turns up majority English names virtually anywhere in suburban London or outside London and so does the national surname databases, i am not sure about Irish ancestry but i think the 10% figure is for those with an Irish parent.

You have a point but you can't expect for example a pontic Greek and a Cypriot Greek to be identical to me a mainland Greek. These differences between the Hellenic groups have been there for thousands of year.

Among Greek Greeks the distances can be pretty big also; on k13 for example Cornish/Orkney have a distance of 2.8, Peloponnesians and say Cretans have a distance of 11. Not questioning the identity of any ethnicities here ofc, but just putting into perspective that the "mixing" between English and other British isle groups is very minor. People here mixed with non B/I ethnicities are more uncommon outside of a few major city centers.

Yes but we both know that northern Europeans are really close from one to another. For example a ducth can get British populations if i am not mistaken in a distance of about 5 (correct me if I'm wrong) all this is of course not direct recent ancestry but close genetic similarity shared since the Bronze age

Are British Catholics of Irish descent or is there a minority of English Catholics like Tolkien?

Real name Thomas Woodward and he has a lot of English ancestry. Furthermore, his 'exoticness' is often exaggerated as he has really aged badly. Some younger photos of him:

Anyway, in answer to the OP's question, he looks more English - his colouring is far from unusual for England (England isn't Denmark ffs), and his facial expression certainly is quite English.

Thanks, i would argue that that Scottish player Billy Gilmour looks more Spanish, he lacks any facial robustness that Grealish has always had and so i think he totally passes in Spain.
