Does he fit as a soldier? If yes, then I'll go with Kyle Reese from Terminator (1984). His courage, determination and birth/life context (having been born in a post apocaliptic world ruled by the machines) is very interesting. He had to endure a lot since childhood, having never lived or had any idea about our confortable current world:
