Not really, NAs in France and South Asians in Britain both came en masse between the 50's and 70's, as did their Black populations too. .

France by far, regardless of the surface level social policies. They are far more ethnically aware than the English.

As a side note, regarding France's welfare state spending: even though it may be higher and more generous than in Britain, I am not sure how well-managed it is. For instance, even though France has had fewer covid cases and deaths both in relative and absolute terms than the UK, back in February and early March during the height of its third wave, entire ICUs in hospitals in cities like Marseille and Paris had to be evacuated with their patients being transferred to less-affected rural hospitals, something I don't remember hearing about in the UK even at the peaks of our waves (at least nowhere near to the same scale).

I think that both countries have a hard ladder to make it to the top, the main difference is probably that Britain has more well paying jobs than France does(though France has i feel a lot more middle and upper working class jobs than the UK does) in other words it is hard to climb the social ladder in France even if you are from a White middle class background than it is in Britain i think. I don't think that France is a racist country, just one that aspires more to simple middle class living as opposed to the UK where endless social climbing seems to be celebrated more, a lot of immigrants are drawn to the UK because of it's reputation as a financial hothouse.

Transfered to hospitals in Germany also...I can't see the British lowering themselves to that point.

Government spending in France is like an octopus, did you know that all the mainstream media (tvs, newspapers, radios) are subsidized by the state and journalists/reporters have considerable fiscal advantages?

My ex-girlfriend grew up in France, and the French seem to me to be much less contemptuous of their native culture. I've never met a French person who would speak badly of their own culture, but I've met plenty of Anglos that unabashedly espouse contempt for their own country.
