My sister is close to 97% "British & Irish". Is she a Celtic mutt? We tend to be a mix of several nationalities, but there's uniformity as far as race. Maybe most Americans are mutts like Labradoodles are mutts.

I suppose I’m a Euro mutt. My ethnic combination is fairly sorta typical for my area. Less so if I was in much of the south or some areas west.

I consider myself a mutt, but I also realize that there are vast swaths of the nation that aren't really. I don't really consider Old Stock Americans to be mutts. They are, as you say, far and away mostly British. And colonial-era Americans are almost their own ethnicity at this point anyway. I would only use the term to refer to people with large amounts of non-British, post-colonial immigrant stock.

Depends, if you're a mixed-race person you're most definitely a mutt. If you're mixed ethnicity like French-German or me then no, hardly so. There has been inner-European migration since forever. There are lots of Austrians who are much swarthier than I, it is impossible that they are "purely Germanic". I live my life as an Austrian woman, so far nobody has said anything yet. However, the orientation point is the European map, not non-Europeans like Morocco etc.

The French owned that entire plot of land but only controlled the area of Louisiana. The rest was territory to the Natives until Thomas Jefferson bought it from Napoleon Bonaparte which was known as the Louisiana Purchase. It was the Anglos/Germans who colonized that entire area outside of Louisiana.

Yes that is true but the French did a terrible job of controlling their land. They quickly became the minority once the Purchase was bought and either fled back to Louisiana/Nova Scotia or assimilated. I think the main reason why Louisiana stayed majority French was because nobody wanted to make use of the swamp lands haha.
