They're Balkans, a North vs central vs South separation is too simplistic, no slavic speaking country is southern european to me. Putting England in central europe is also pretty dumb.

In my opinion, there is a noticeable western and eastern shift within these "Southern European" countries: South-Western (Portugal & Spain), South-Central (Italy) and South-Eastern (Greece + perhaps Balkans), from more liberal to more conservative in mindset. If anything the real divide is between Western and Eastern Europe...

True, there's a bigger political and cultural divide west vs east than north vs south; even Greece feels very different to the neighboring Balkans countries, so grouping Balkan countries with Iberia is even more illogical. North Europe is also an equally retarded concept; Russia and Scotland in the same region? Of course OP just wants to make North Europe seem as small as possible and the south as large as possible, which is the point of this thread (that's why England and Netherlands are apparently central european lul).

So according to your logic an Italian from 45N Milan is Central European but a Russian from Sochi 43N is southern European? And that Italian from Milan is in the same region as someone from 53N in Manchester but not 41N in Rome? And that Russian slavs are somehow northern central and Southern European? I think people can decide for themselves if this killer formula makes sense..

Geography is not my logic.. Don't you like 45° ? Ok change it with 48° or 50° and Milan will move in south together with almost all Switzerland and Austria..and 70% of France..

Russia is a bridge between Europe and Asia..
