I belive its all scandinavian countries, you get a nice golden Brown tan, anf it goes very well with your blond to light Brown hair, it could be that the sun is lower here in scandinavia during summer times, that your skin maby have adapted to it, I know many say thay when its like 25 celsius in scandinavia it feels like in greece when its +35 i know a pakistani from work who says when its above 25 in sweden he feels like his at home in Pakistan, but i realy dont know why you get good tans when you live so far north

My educated guess is that it might be related to being a carrier for red hair SNPs. Even if most are not red headed, people in the British isles usually carry some variants for red hair.
Those are significantly less common in most of continental Europe.
And as everyone knows, people with red hair are notorious for struggling to get a tan.

I agree with this. There are some genes that are high in Isles populations that have an effect on melanin production. Not only to do with MC1R genes but also the IRF4 gene both of which are higher in the Irish.

Regarding Scandinavians they still have high skin cancer rates so tanning isn't ideal in populations that are naturally fair skinned.

They obviously like their tans but they have the highest skin cancer rates in Europe.

It must be the moisture in the air, humidity makes hot weather feel hotter and cold weather colder. For the last 3 days, afternoon temperatures here are 40-41C, but because humidity is very low, it is bearable.

Yes! Because you sweat like a pig here when its 25 and when i was in rhodes that was over 35 and i didint sweat, but there is hot but dry air

Have to admit Scandos look really good with heavy tan.
