Default Mirandés Language - Spanish speakers & Brazilians: How much can u understand? (Videos)

Language almost extinct but still spoken in Northeastern Portugal, especially by older generations. Related to Asturo-Leonese languages.

How well can you understand what they say and sing?

From the first video you can understand about 80-85% of what they were talking about

There are a lot of Azoreans where I live, they are borderline unintelligible. Micaelenses even sound kind of French to me, which is strange...

Another dialect I found difficult to understand was the Portuguese spoken in Florianópolis when I visited there.

To answer OP, I understand them more or less.

Yes, even the Portuguese from continental Portugal say that sometimes they can't understand the Azoreans speaking, for example, see this video, doesn't it seem like he's speaking another language? lol

About Florianópolis, yes it is a city founded by Azoreans, that's why until today the accent of the city's inhabitants has an Azorean influence.

Mirandês is probably strongly influenced by Portuguese language by now, given the sample from the first video. They are basically speaking Portuguese with a Trás-os-Montes' accent with some Spanish words in the mix here and there.
