The nothern half of Euboea has been completely destroyed, and thus, the most forest-covered part of the island has been essentially cremated. 100.000 ha have been razed to the ground and only ashes have been left. Entire settlements have burned and the lives of thousands of people have been destroyed, potentially permanently. All of this because of wind turbines, which were approved in secret and under emergency procedures by the local administration, in cooperation with the central government. And these turbines are for the cites that are currently burning.

The only lung of oxygen for Attica and Athens, the forest of Tatoi and Parnitha, have also been completely devastated. It all started under circumstances of: complete lack of wind, in a flat and accessible by all means area, and the tiny size of the initial fire. In 2 days it spread across a front of 50 kms almost in size. All of this because of the fact that the government wanted to make investments in Tatoi, from last winter already. And now, the forest which covered the desired area "coincidentally" got out of the way.

In the Peloponnese, the fires that burnt Ancient Olympia reached the ancient site 500m away. When, speaking from all my life going to ancient Olympia, as it's next to my village basically, is protected by an extensive fire protection system, in which the surrounding forests are sprayed with water every half an hour in a radius of 5-7kms. Yet, they reached the site. And now, the fires almost reached my village and the oak forest nearby. And now they're heading to Gortynia, in Arcadia.

All of these happened because of arson. Dozens of people, almost all of them illlegal immigrants, have been arrested, and there are thousands upon thousands of images of arson mechanisms (gas stoves, fuel tanks, magnifying glasses amongst dried grass). And the government seriously says, along with all our political class, that it's... "cLiMaTe cHANge!!1!1!!!"...

It's obvious they wanted this to happen. There's no political solution at this point. All parties have officially been proven destructive and incompetent. They don't care about their own citizenry at any rate. At this point, I legitimately think that all the members of the political and ruling classes should either burn in the forest and suffer a lot worse than the people who lost their property and the countless animals who died a horrendous death. Or, they should be hanged by the same trees in the forests they burned.
