Barra da Tijuca is an upper class neighboorhod in Rio de Janeiro capital.

It's nicknamed as the "Miami Brasileira" by many people.

Many people like it, because of it's luxury condons, beach lifestyle, safety, lack of favelas in it's surrounding (except for one in an area you have to pass though to acess it, if I'm not mistaken), but others look down on it, because of being an area with many "emergentes" (working class people from the subúrbios that enriched and decided to live there, like actors and soccer players, in contrast with "Zona Sul"'s more traditional elite) and the need to have a car in order to have acess to services outside the "bairro", like an American suburb, very car needed culture.

With so much capital leaving Venezuela I'm guessing many of those houses are empty. No?

Some of you are probably familiarized with the Polanco neighborhood in MX CITY. Known for its European style coffee shops and super cars.

    Chile.

Vitacura district in the capital is said to be the wealthiest in Chile.

Miami Beach, Kendall, Coral Gables and Coconut Grove are all pretty attractive, and even the poorer neighbourhoods to the north and west of the city don't remotely compare to favelas, tugurios, villas miserias etc.

I dunno about that, lol...but it is somewhat overrated, yeah. Miami as a whole is too much of a suburbia. Too spread out. And that wouldn't even be a problem if there was decent public transportation infrastructure, but it don't exist. Although this also depends where you live, like I have a friend that lives in the area roughly somewhere from Mid Beach to Sunny Isles and it is honestly super great. I always had a good time visiting there. Pretty walkable and cool vibe. Areas like Key Biscayne, Coral Gables, Brickell and Coconut Grove are nice too. Also could try out a Cuban's laundry room efficiency on 8th Street

I don't like Kendall, too much of a suburbia.

The poor areas in Miami are still pretty fucking bad, man. I was visiting Wynwood and drove into this area called Overtown, it looks like this:
