the hungarian wikipedia page for anthropology professor lajos bartucz
(who originally labelled "Der Alföld Typus")
should include his political persuasion and motivation
for doing so.
additional text to the page
should be accompanied by citations
to reference material.
Lajos Bartucz The variation of the Turanid type bound to the soil of our homeland and most certainly developed here is what I had previously referred to as 'Caucasian Mongolid', and which I have named 'Alföldi race' (Homo pannonicus) as of late, as its most typical representatives are found on the great Hungarian Plain and Transdanubia. At the same time, this is the racial type which fits the honouring description of the 'Magyar type', as it is nowhere else in the world to be found in this form.

Most of them in all honesty. Alfold? Lmao. Noric?
Those that have some basis in them are Mediterranean, Nordic, Armenoid, Indid, Australoid, Negroid, Arabid and Mongoloid.
The rest are in-betweeners...

lol, obv. you have to rely on sm. like eye area, pigmentation and other soft features to distinguish between those Caucasoid types like Med and Arabid (You know the differences very well because you are a Lebanese or sm.) Craniometrically there are Cromag, Alpine, small/ robust Long Heads and Taurids.

The Guanche skulls as a whole are unlike those of modern European Mediterraneans, and resemble northern European series most closely, especially those in which a brachycephalic element is present, as in Burgundian and Alemanni series.oldschool anthropologydivided them into clearly differentiated types, which include a Mediterranean, a Nordic, a "Guanche," and an Alpine. The "Guanche" accounts for 50 per cent of the whole on the four islands of Teneriffe, Gomera, Gran Canaria, and Hierro; the Nordic for 31 per cent, the Mediterranean for 13 per cent, and the Alpine

Obviously different countries have different looks, but I think most phenotypes outside of the basic racial level are pretty subjective. Of course, phenotype is merely a useful way to describe observed phenomenon, just as race is, so that doesn't necessarily make them "wrong". But maybe it's inaccurate to assign all these sub-phenotypes to parts of countries when in reality there is going to be massive overlap between any northwest European country and even between north and south. Let alone regional differences. There are old-stock British Islanders who look like people from regions of Italy or Spain, and vice versa. And when it comes to those two countries, the most heavily wogged looks only coincide with their MENA-heavy southern regions. In Italy, and Spain even moreso, the basic look is still common to find in Northern Europe. There is in my opinion a "common euro" phenotype that most countries in Europe have to some extent, even if they deny it.

Anglo-Saxon, West Baltid, Paleo Atlantid, Strandid, Irano-Nordoid, Baskid. Probably a few more I missed.
A lot of the names are stupid too. "CM" should be named after a mesolithic or later paleolithic sample, as at the time of the French sample Cro Magnon is named for(we're talking very shortly after humans entered Europe, and their genetics reflect it), they probably looked something like this weird pseudo-Papuan featured looking Saami(if they looked like any modern populations at all):
(ignore the dumb caption)

Hallstatt sites in central Europe(therefore the name "Hallstatt Nordid") also have nothing(or very little, Swedes will have very minor single digit Hallstatt/Urnfield admixture) to do with actual blonde, long faced, clean featured people from Sweden, is another example.

A few people mentioned East Nordid. Remember looks is all we're going by(should be, anyway) all facial/head features as well, not just craniometry(body type/height differences vary/diverge too much between different head/facial phenotypes to be considered, even though oldschool anthropology would have you believe otherwise, for example 5'8 Ramon Dekkers cannot be considered anything but Nordid). Someone classified as "East Nordid" from Russia is genetically closer to someone classified as "Pontid", "Neo-Danubian" or "Med" from Russia than to someone classified as "Nordid" from a place like the Netherlands or England, in every case. I think these people look absolutely alien to what people would consider to be Nordids in a place like the Netherlands:
So yes, "East Nordid" is very useful as a tool to distinguish different types of looks, which is what a phenotype is(although some "phenotypes" do take it too far, splitting hairs really). The only people who I can see not seeing a difference are African Americans who can't tell the difference between Sub-Saharan Africans and Papuans/Aborigines.
