It also depends on your age group. A man on his 20's wearing a suit and tie on a date might look like he is "trying too hard", kinda over exaggerated unless that's how he normally dresses and feels comfortable with. Otherwise just face it, sooner or later she is going to find out that 99% of his wardrobe consists of Sci-Fi t-shirts

What I just posted, including my tie, is technically casual clothes. Formal would be black tie which people call a tux or tuxedo in between formality is are suits but a seersucker suit is less formal than standard business suits .

I repeat : chinos or khakis with a sports coat is casual wear, yes, even with a tie.

I know it is casual business and you can pull it off, I just mentioned that a tie on a date is not a must in most cases.

Depends on your cultural background. Wearing a tracksuit on a date in Portugal, Spain, Italy or France is for the most part not acceptable unless you are from a specific subculture dating someone who is into that subculture (like hip-hop for example). Personally I wouldn't ever wear a tracksuit in public, let alone on a date. Most women might find you sloppy and you are more prone to be judged by others. But like I said it depends on your cultural background, if you are from the U.S. or some historical working class borough of London it might be acceptable (?), whereas I find it super tacky.

Most people that I've seen that went on dates usually wear business casual or business attire. It is usually ghetto/welfare recipients who usually wear casual clothes/tracksuits with overpriced Jordan's.

Exactly but they exist so I had to mention it. In the U.S. it seems every second person wears Jordans, there's a cult following.

Hulu will probably disagree (sorry beforehand ) but you are from New York and New Yorkers have a more "European approach" to fashion. People dress differently in other major urban areas in the U.S.

Most Americans , especially outside New York City, have no idea how to dress. Not that I think I'm anything special for dressing the way I do but Americans think its ok to dress like a slob because it is 'comfortable' but you know what else is comfortable ? Not showering and shaving or grooming your facial hair etc.. if one does not want to be a slob then one has to dress and live with some degree of discomfort. It's true an ascot traditionally would go more with my outfit for a quick brunch or something but Ascots are harder to pull off than a tie, nowadays.

There are ways I could improve but I'm still ahead of the pack in this regard. Anyway, to Americans nothing including a tie and sports coat could be considered 'casual'.

Yeah, that looks somewhat in line with what I would feel comfortable wearing. With the exception of the tank top, not a fan.
