Default Thing that doesn't make sense in UK

What in god's name did architects/builders think of, when they first started drawing/building those crappy attached houses in UK?

It looks so disgusting and like a 3rd world shithole, also most of streets in UK lack of any greenery, instead of that they make a park in every 4th street.
Sad thing this is how many people in UK life it's not just a small portion.

Imagine even a country like Ukraine, with one of worst infrastructures in Europe can look much better only because of trees and not that wierd attaching of every single house. I know it has some pros, of heating and energy etc, but it looks extremely bad.

I feel like we are behind others in Europe when it comes to City Squares and the above. Many cities or towns would be much better if you planted trees. Not very complicated for councils.

I know right, the thing is we know UK is an island and it has huge amount of population, but still they decided to build those streets so narrow and small, that it's even impossible to include trees there. Which is pretty alogical since UK has probably best liablity to grow trees because of precipitation. Althought from what I've seen Scottish cities tend to be a bit wider, so planting trees shouldn't be a mission impossible. Still the streets look so so bad without them, that everything looks even more depressive than it actually is.

I wonder if people actually thought of this before, because I swear it's really hard to name that many countries in Europe that has worse looking streets/housing than UK.

There are the ex-colonies. Still the same base culture but room to move and the ability to uplift yourself and your family.
Nine out of ten concerns are completely unfounded.

This looks good in the late spring, summer and early autumn. In the late autumn, winter and early spring when trees don't have any leaves and grass is mostly absent, the situation will be opposite.

Yep, but it's about the principle. UK cities lack of any greenery, besides parks and most of houses are attached.

Dunno if it doesn't make sense, it's cheaper to maintain such street without trees, not to mention that "muh green grass" turn into one big mud in since November to April, especially full of dog poops after snow melted. Tree or branch may fall during some really extreme eather and destroy something(yeah that's not so possible scenarion but still).

If there is enough amount of green area concentrated in some places then actually I would say it's good.

You want some green then you just go for a walk to green area which is close and enjoy(unless it's full of drunkards or chavs)

Of course it has cons as well for example it is rather damn hell during hot days at such streets(at least I guess so)

There is literally no compairson with a street without and with trees it's much much better to have trees. Maintaining them is not that hard, you create jobs which is another pro. Dog poop is job of owners and not fault of trees. In summer trees can lower temperature up to 10 degrees and also better the air quality. I'll join the green party of Poland and plant 50 trees around your house Lord Pleksi, you're doomed.
