I don't see many fat people in the drive thru at work

I work in fast food and I rarely see any fat people . In fact, people of all ages that I serve look very slim and trim and svelt. We have the occasional porkers but they are few and far between. I was wondering why people blame fast food on the "obesity epidemic". Obviously most people who eat fast food aren't fat. So I was thinking that maybe this is just another canard for socialism. Fast food represents the glorious capitalist free market system and everything communists hate. Naturally they want to eliminate it and make us eat water cress sandwiches for life.

Chick Fil A has very healthy menu options. Chicken is high in protein to boot.

Chick-fil-a is on the higher end of fast food restaurants. It's more expensive and the service is better. People who just want cheap unhealthy crap to eat are more likely to go to McDonald's. And therefore I expect you'd see more fat people in a McDonald's drive-thru.

Bullshit. Obesity rates have been shooting through the roof ever since American fast food corporations stepped foot in Africa.



Fast food corporations intentionally target low income areas in order to boost profits. They know that their product is cheap, and therefore poor people are the most likely to be frequent customers. Whereas healthier food is expensive. Because of this, they set up shop in the less fortunate areas. There’s a reason why you see a McDonald’s in every hood and why blacks are the most obese demographic in America.

There’s chicken and then there’s...versions of it. Anyway, chic fil a is one of the better ones and if I had to eat there or McDonald’s/Taco Bell, I’d go for the Chic and ask God to bless it.

Hopefully you do realise that your perception of "fatness" is likely skewed by the fact of you being from USA? This country has the highest rates of obesity in the world. Maybe only Mexico is slightly above. A lot of actually overweight people may not seem fat from a cursory glance especially in the drivethrough.

No, European, it isn't. I know what obese looks like and what fat looks like. I know what "overweight" looks like. I am myself. I notice people both in and out of the restaurant. A majority of them look fit and athletic. They don't look supper skinny, they are just the right size . The older people, of course, do not look as athletic, but they are not "obese". Most people appear to be a healthy, normal weight.
