Default Where does the surname Arriaga come from?

It's my dad's side's surname, I've read that it comes from the Basque Country, but does anyone have anything a little more specific?

Seems like one of your ancestors was from Gasteitz.

If I am not wrong, it's a "frequent" basque surname like Aguirre (I mean it's not strange like Aristegui, Plazaola, Larrańaga, Zubizarreta, Manterola, Bereziartua, etc etc)

So that you have a basque surname like that it doesn't necessarily means you have an a basque ancestor (For example a Spaniard member called Duffmannn has a basque surname but don't have a basque relative)

Still we can wait for the opinions of spaniards members, but this is my input about it lol
