Default Why are there so many last names ending with oglou?

Why weren't those lastnames translated to the Greek version but kept as Turkish version "-oğlu" ?
Do you have any ideas on the subject?
the synonym of "oğlu" in Slavic countries is "-ov" or "-ova". "ev" "-eva"
or in Nordic countries "-sen" "-son"
maybe greek one is just "-s" or "-as" "-os"

    recently I've found out
At least 2 out of 8 of my family lastnames do exist in Greece.

And are there any official or private record table, database or smth where you can trace back surnames of origin in Greece.
so I can trace back with these surnames?

You will find it around the black sea. For example Thanassis Papazoglou has roots in Thrace and Macedonia. Its regional suffix not national nor ethnic.
