I don't agree, you can find a gas station in nth degree podunksville that's run by an Asian individual. That is, you can find an Asian-owned gas station anywhere in the US, no matter how remotely located. For example.

I know what you mean... even back in the 1990s every hotel throughout the South seemed run by South Asians. But I think the Deep South is probably the least affected by massive immigration, don't you think?

I'm not sure if there are any "negative" changes to a place, as a side-effect of "immigration." But anyway, as long as America's business is business, and the Almighty Dollar has a role in these things, people gonna mix. Likewise, a road is a road. Transportation advances have brought any and every body to any and every spot possible.
The Deep South isn't any different, or any more peculiar from any other place on earth. Nor do I think it preserves anything particularly phenomenal, culturally speaking. I can't take seriously the notion that the South is "untouched" from the rest of the world, or possesses a "virginal" quality, etc.

Sure, I'm just saying from personal observation, mass immigration hasn't drastically changed the environment, culture, or ethnic-makeup of the South as it has the Midwest, or other random parts of the country over the past 10 or 20 years.
