Same thoughts because Puerto Ricans are more European on average, yet mexicans are lighter skin. The CANDELA study also proved how light Mexicans were despite scoring lower European. But most of those in the study were lower class Chilangos from a public university of UNAM and Southern Mexicans who also attended that public low class university.

The Mexicans in Chicago are harnizo on average (or harnizo-leaning). Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. I always thought they were basically transplants from the West Coast and Southwest.

I'm glad you mentioned this because Ironically Is true , on average they seem to be 55-65% European.

I remembered few years back I read how New York Ricans were saying when they moved to Chicago they were surprised how different they look from NY and that many "Chicas were hot"

I also read many rivalries of Chicago Chicanos vs NY Ricans etc.

Anyway In regards to your question yes they are basically transplanted from the West and so far are majority

I am not sure what the average is, but the first/second arrivals were from Texas, after that came in the Mexican immigrant population coming directly from Durango (pasito durangense comes from Chicago), Michoacan, Jalisco and Guanajuato. Recently they have been coming from Guerrero and now you see more Guerrero food restaurants and cultural events occurring in that city

AcevedoRicky (Puerto Rican user) mentioned he was considered white in Puerto Rico and he looked very non-white

He looked sorta castizoish, middle eastern or something like that. But most Puerto Ricans don't look like him (I know he liked to claim that). Being common and being average are two different things.
