Default Random questions from a Paraguayan to brasileros

What's the stereotype of the average Paraguayan in Brazil? Have you seen or met Paraguayans in Brazil? How would you classify the Paraguayans you saw?
Outside of stereotypes, how do you think common people are in Paraguay?
What's the most similar state to Paraguay in Brasil?
There is a Paraguayan or descendant of Paraguayans famous in Brazil?

I'm only with small doubts, other Brazilian members have already given me an idea. Thanks for answering

What's the stereotype of the average Paraguayan in Brazil?
Someone with a strong indigenous heritage, of course no one here thinks that Paraguayans are Bolivian in that sense, but the streotypical thing is that they are a very indigenous people.

Have you seen or met Paraguayans in Brazil?

Yes, especially in the beach towns here.

How would you classify the Paraguayans you saw?

Most looked like Mestizo/Harnizo, others Castizo, and I met one who was a grandson of Europeans who must have been in the 90% + European range.

Outside of stereotypes, how do you think common people are in Paraguay?

Based on my trip to Paraguay, I would say that the majority is between harnizo and mestizo, with an important minority of Castizos and Criollos

What's the most similar state to Paraguay in Brasil?

    Mato Grosso do Sul

There is a Paraguayan or descendant of Paraguayans famous in Brazil?

Famous Paraguayans I would say are Solano Lopez, Larissa Riquelme, and soccer players like Carlos Gamarra, Angel Romero, Fabian Balbuena, Gustavo Gómez, Francisco Arce and José Luis Chilavert.

From famous Brazilians of Paraguayan descent I remember the actors Chico and Enrique Díaz

Although in Mato Grosso do Sul there are many people of Paraguayan descent, there was even a former Brazilian member here at the Forum who had Paraguayan descent.

Unfortunately people in Brazil, the average guy on the street, dont have a good impression of Paraguay and do many jokes about it. In my part of the country people dont know any famous Paraguayan, I myself remember Larissa Riquelme of the World Cups, but other persons will not remember. I would say Paraguayan would be a mix of Mato Grosso do Sul and Rondônia, but even these areas are significantly different. My personal impression of Paraguay is good and I have lots of curiosity about the country.

Tutankhamun already answered it. But I'll give my imput to your first question.

Being 100% honest, average Brazilians rarely think of something positive when picturing Paraguay.

They associate the country with piracy, contraband, low quality products (Made in Paraguay joke/mockering), and think the whole country is resumed to Ciudad del Este.

But at the same time, there are lot's of Brazilians living in Paraguay (not talking about the Brasiguayos), and they say many good things about the country, like it's lower taxes.

I also think that the Amerindian imput is overestimated by average Brazilians. I used to think Paraguay was in the pred-Amerindian range before lurking the genetics threads of your country on this forum, when in fact it's in the harnizo range, pred-European, like Chile, not Bolivia or Peru.

Outside Mato Grosso do Sul, because it borders Paraguay, I think there is few influence of Paraguayan culture in Brazil. There is the singer Perla (the Paraguayan, not the Brazilian), which was famous here, but she is an exception.
