Default Which neighbouring regions or counties in your country are relatively cut off from each other?

In Britain, Dorset is quite cut off from the rest of Southwest England - even before Beeching, the railway line didn't extend west of Weymouth into Wiltshire, Somerset or Devon, and the road connections to the neighbouring counties are not that great either. Furthermore, North and South Wales are pretty cut off from each other - many people even go via England by train or road to get from one to the other. It is no longer even possible to get from Carmarthenshire to Ceredigion by train, and Ceredigion itself doesn't have rail connections and only very limited road connections to counties further North. And in Scotland, the Northwest and Northeast are pretty cut off from each other both by road and especially rail too.

The North of the country and the Southwest. The only direct route is via the international highway at the border. A formal road connecting both regions hasnt been made due to ecological considerations, even though the Southwest could very well use northern capital and some colonists from the place to boot.

So do you see all the border checkpoints along the road?

Yep. In the north they stop almost at the gates of Santiago, while in the south it stops somewhere between Barahona and Azua.

    Probably Epirus and Crete.

Epirus lies beyond the Pindus mountains so it's not easy to access via railway and the national motorway.

Crete is the most distant island from the mainland and they have developped a spin-off local culture.

Both Epirotic and Cretan cities are highly urbanized though (Ioannina, Heraklion, Chania). There are probably small islands and villages between mountains (especially in Thrace) that are from another world but their population is not that relevant.

But do Epirus and Crete actually border each other as such?

Upper Himalayan regions like Chardham,Lahaul Spiti,Kinnaur usually gets inaccessible from rest due to seasonal landslides/heavy snow , fragile roads & no rail network .

I meant that compared to their neighbouring areas, these two may show relevant deviation.

Not that they are actually neighbouring regions.
