Ashkenazis lack the South Italian and Peloponnesian that Cretans have.
Also Ashkenazis dont have the Cretan mountain men ethos that display very healthy doses of aggressive masculinity with high levels of honour.
Ashkenazis are money people - Cretans are nature people.

In theory they can, because East Med is in relative majority among both peoples, but Ashkenazis have high amounts of Semitic and Central/Northern European admixture. Virtually no Cretan looks Semitic whereas over half Ashkenazis have at least a little Semitic influence in their physique... Also Ashkenazis are way blonder, lighter eyed whereas Cretans are almost entirely brunet (if you don't believe me, go there and notice)

Yes, yes, yes. Only biased racial purists will say no to this question. A lot of people in the Levant can pass in Med islands, and vice versa. Ashkenazis are blonder too so they'd pass in Europe proper more, especially the east and centre. Cretans on the other hand are more homogenous.
