Can you be more specific please? What exactly do you mean by "Messianics"?

There are so many religious groupings these days, that it would be good for me to understand exactly who you mean, before I comment. And I would gladly give you my opinion

I believe he means Messianic Jews - Jews who do believe in Jesus as the Messiah.

It's hard to paint them all with the same brush. In my observation, it seems like many of them are legalists, so I would be wary of those types. But if any of them believe in Jesus in truth and have been born of God, then they are brothers. I do believe that many Jews will be saved after the rapture, when the fullness of the Gentiles is come in. But things are still the same way that Paul described them in Romans 11. That is, blindness is happened in part to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. Now (as then) there are some Jews who believe in Jesus, but quite a small proportion, as they mostly remain totally blind. But "all Israel will be saved" happens after the rapture.

My honest opinion is that if a "Messianic Jew" is someone from the Jewish ethnic group who believes in Jesus, then I regard them as a fellow Christian just like everyone else. They are Christians then. There is no special "Messianic Jewish" designation in the Bible or in church history. The first disciples and apostles who wrote the New Testament were all Jewish in origin (except for Luke I believe), but they didn't regard themselves as any different from Gentiles who accepted Jesus (after perhaps an initial hesitation). They eventually regarded Jewish and Gentile believers in Christ as one and the same family.

I do think that some of these Messianic groups are in error if they think themselves something special, or the like... or if they still hold to Jewish customs or legalities. They should stop with it. Judaism is a false religion. If they accept Jesus Christ as their saviour and are baptised into the Body of Christ, they become Christians like the rest of us. And if they hold to viewpoints contrary to scripture then they are in error like the rest of us. It's really as simple as that!

Incidentally, the state of Israel does not regard Messianic "Jews" as real Jews, but they classify them as Christians.

Thanks for the responses! Yes Wanderer is correct. I am speaking of Messianic Jews. I've attended a friends congregation a few times and now due to covid I have just been watching live streams of the services. I was curious of everyone's opinions. My issue with Messianics is that many of the people, if not all, are not ethnically Jewish. They are gentiles, but feel they are Jews because they practice Jewish traditions. But it makes no sense to me because they are Christians. So how can one be Christian, but practice Jewish traditions and consider oneself as Jewish, and believe in Jesus? I've gotten into a few arguments with my friend about it but they never go anywhere. Don't get me wrong because I have really enjoyed the services, but I cannot help but question it all around. At the end of the day does it really matter if they are believers in Christ?

Yeah I totally agree with you. It's a new fad, to be honest. It's fashionable to be "messianic" and pretend that you are a Jew, as if it will bring some extra favours to you. It's nonsense, in short. And I'm pretty sure the apostles who wrote the New Testament would not have had kind words for them. At the worst, it becomes a mixture of Judaism and Christianity. And that's nothing good!

Many Christians who don't know much about history, think people who follow Judaism are merely like the people of the Old Testament, old Israel, who just don't believe in Jesus. That's not true! For starters, the book mostly used by Jews in practice, and whose ideas they live by, is the Talmud -- a book that originated in Babylon, and is not inspired by God at all. In fact, it is more recent than the New Testament! And it has insulting references about Jesus in it. Talmudic Judaism is one of the most evil religions on the face of this earth, and it is nothing that any Christian should strive to emulate... I wish more Christians, especially in America, come to realise this. It's a huge deception that is infiltrating Christendom. Christians should stay away from Talmudic Judaism and all its ideas!

Thank you Loki for your responses! It sounds like I will have to find a new congregation to attend.

They're utterly misguided. Same goes for the related movement known as the Hebrew Roots movement which are Christians who follow the old testament law and use the Hebrew names like Yeshua instead of Jesus. Totally misguided. They are Judaizers, it's nothing new. There have been sects and cults like this since the earliest days of the Church Age.

The diversity of factions and sects is not a good thing, it will develop into Hinduism like situation, all people give up to racialism and religious factionalism. I totally avoid religious congregations and secret teachings. Most people do not notice that hinduization is happening, sects by races are coming up, therefore complexity of the religion is not a good thing at all.
