Not really, it's on the same level as Romania and Bulgaria, and Moldova is apparently more equal than Switzerland and Norway, which can't be any futher from truth. No international stats for Transnistria obviously
So this coefficient is not that useful for this purpose. The point is that for the average citizen, even in Russia and Belarus there will be more personal freedoms than in Transnistria.

I know little about Transnistria, but I think it's obvious that it can't be regarded equal to an ordinary country.

Just another failed proxy state living on handouts from Moscow and keeping Moldova in a fridge politically.

Hard to get in there and complete waste of time. Screw communism and Soviet Union.
Same shit on both sides of Dniester river, exception Moldova is more safer and free.

All of Tiraspol (shady 90s atmosphere with few people and mostly old, no SMEs and family owned businesses..basically a plastic facade of a state, like North Korea)

Just one boulevard of Northeastern Chisinau (not even close to 1st world, but clearly free, with plenty of small business activity and people of all ages, where youth is very visible)

    Central part (one boulevard)

A kebab shop on the first seconds is a clear sign that freedom has come there Still a nice sunny city with broad streets, mate. To look 1st world at least half of population should look migrant though.

I was there in 2019 and I loved the place, not because of the views or the monuments, but because of the atmosphere, it felt so unique. I was walking in the street and a nice local guy stoped me to present himself, sell some postcards and to offer himself as a guide. In the tourism office I received the best treatment I have had in a tourism office. The place felt very nationalistic and also quite poor, more than Chisinau and at the level of the rest of Moldova. I would like to visit again Moldova/Transnistria, they are nice places and very cheap also.

This place is like a cancer (Russian buffer zone), which should be operated sooner or later.
