Default What did you score on a blood chem test?

Is my score of 71 U/L on the SGPT (ALT) portion something to worry about?..

Everything in normal range for me. But that was 1.5 years ago, it's time for me to get a physical.

So above normal or slightly elevated level doesn't always mean it's something super serious right?

I scored normal on the cholesterol one, though slightly elevated on a few of the others

it depends. talk to your doctor. for cholesterol I should be on a strict diet, I have some related issues, like chest pain and shortness of breath. started to avoid fat and totally gave up on dairy and beer two months ago but when I have people over for barbecue I eat all foods I should avoid see your doctor. I plan on getting vegan on Dr Esselstyn's diet soon (no oils, no seeds and nuts, no avocado, no processed or packaged food, no dairy, no foods with added sugar, no fast food, moderate alcohol, replacing beer with wine), I understand it's the best cure for high cholesterol and associated health problems.

SGPT does seem above normal range. If your doctor isn't concerned about them then it should be ok but you should double check. High liver enzymes could indicate a problem there, do you have any symptoms?

    I scored 80% Aegean Islands, 11% Yugoslavia(Balkans), 3% North Italy, 3% Iran, 3% Caucasus/Anatolia.

See a doctor instead of asking a forum.

Good luck to you! I believe your doctor gave you a guideline on what foods to avoid and what to do etc like what my old doc gave for me

I had blood chem test 3 years ago as well btw and my SGPT-alt was also above normal....My doctor diagnosed it as "fatty liver" and gave me a guideline on what to do and what foods to avoid(like avoid seafood etc). I'm a regular diet coke drinker though I just quit about a week ago so don't know if that has anything to do with it...Recently though I noticed very slight pains in my stomach/heart area whenever I drink diet coke...though it completely disappears after I drink water and stop the coke. But other than that no other symptoms it seems

Btw doing this blood test reminded me of doing a 23andme test LOL (I had the test about 2 weeks ago)
