I have OCD since i was a child, like 8 years old, mostly about washing the hands( It began in h1n1 times), but as far as I know i have no autism.

How often do you give into compulsions? How do you distract yourself?

To me it all appears normal but other people criticise me saying I wash the hands too much.I wash them if I am going to deal with things I need to remain clean like dishes or food or touch my eyes or face for example.I dont fistract myself I think its is getting stronger, I just try to be rational .

I was 16 also. Mine actually started when i hit puberty though... 11/12. I went through therapy for a year, and don't really have OCD anymore.

Many people with autism have at least one other condition. I know that ADHD commonly occurs with autism.

It is most definitely real and related to brain development. You can see it in children from as young as 2 years old because they stand out compared to neurotypical children, developmental and speech delayed, sensory processing problems and lack of social skills. I can only imagine how awful it is for them and their families. Why do you deny it?
